After graduating, Cory joined the Lubbock Rural Area office of TxDOT. While at TxDOT, Cory worked as an Engineering Assistant on the reconstruction of US Highway 87 through Tahoka, TX. He performed many portions of the plan production, design of intersections, and H&H analysis. Cory was also trained in Geopak I & II as well as the TxDOT drainage analysis software.
In February 2000, Cory joined McK Engineering, Inc. as an Engineer-in-Training. While at McK Engineering, Cory served as the Project Designer for residential and commercial developments; municipal utility projects in Denver City, Grandfalls, Toyah, and Springlake, TX; private H&H studies; and construction observation. Cory also managed several TCDP funded projects.
In February 2001, Cory joined Hugo Reed and Associates, Inc. as an Engineer-in-Training and Licensed Professional Engineer. While at Hugo Reed and Associates, Cory served as Project Designer, Project Engineer and Project Manager for numerous residential and commercial developments; public and private H&H studies; Playa Lake cut and fill projects; and numerous FEMA flood studies. Cory was the Project Engineer/Manager on the West Stadium Plaza and parking lot renovations for Jones/ATT Stadium at Texas Tech University and the Rawls Course on Texas Tech campus.
In January 2006 Cory co-founded AMD Engineering. Cory currently serves as Principal and Project Manager with AMD Engineering on a wide variety of projects including: residential and commercial developments; school additions and renovations; public and private H&H studies; FEMA submittals; survey coordination; sanitary sewer lift station for a private/public funded project in Amarillo, TX; and earthwork cut and fill projects. Cory also serves as the marketing director for AMD. He has had special training in H&H studies using Interconnected Channel and Pond Routing software created by Streamline Technologies.
Cory is currently a member of the South Plains Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, the West Texas Home Builders Association and Developer’s Council, and the South Plains Chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials – Football Division. He is also a board member on the City of Lubbock’s Urban Renewal Agency and Neighborhood Redevelopment Commission and is a board member for the Frenship Foundation for Leadership. Cory is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas and New Mexico and is a Certified Floodplain Manager. A native of Andrews, TX, Cory is married to Elizabeth and they have three children, Riley (6), Claire (5) and Katherine (3). Cory serves as a deacon at the Kings Ridge Church of Christ. |
